About Our Organization
How the RWJ Hamilton Foundation Helps its Communities
Founded in 1984, the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton Foundation is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization that raises funds to support patient care initiatives and capital projects for RWJ Hamilton and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton.
RWJ Hamilton Foundation endorses the Donor Bill of Rights developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits.
Led by a Board of Directors, the Foundation depends on the generous support of private donors, corporations and family foundations. Also, an active Auxiliary and the Young Professionals Group organize and host events that encourage community support. In addition to offering a variety of planned giving opportunities, the Foundation's annual signature fundraising events include a Golf Classic, a black-tie Gala, the 2K walk/5K run, and a wine/beer social called 'All in Good Taste.'
Projects and initiatives that have recently benefited from the generous support of the Foundation include:
- Emergency Department Renovation and Expansion;
- Lakefront Tower addition;
- Four 'Grounds for Healing®' Gardens;
- A multi-faith Chapel project;
- Cardiovascular and Oncology Programs of Excellence;
- Post-Partum Depression Screening and Support;
